La Canada del Barco, is an imaginatively designed development located in the Penoncillo area of Torrox Costa, near Nerja. This ground floor apartment can sleep up to six adults and has its own private garden. Bedrooms consist of a double and a twin plus a double sofabed in the lounge. The location is fantastic- the beach is just across the road. Two communal swimming pools, one of which is a childrens pool. The apartment boasts air conditioning & heating, satellite TV & radio showing British channels, a DVD player and brand NEW for this year- WI-FI. For our younger visitors, the apartment has its own travel cot and highchair. All of these features are all included in the price- no hidden extras! NEW - Now accepting Paypal payments. There are two restaurants and a pizzeria on our doorstep and a small supermarket across the road. A local bus stop is nearby. Torrox is a Typical Spanish village untouched by tourist development Where is Torrox ? Torrox is nestled in the hillside just 116km from Marbella and 60km from Malaga within Andalucia. Nearest Airport Malaga - 45 mins drive Nearest Beach  Across the road. Nearest Shops  Small Supermarket across the road. Nearest Motorway  285 Torrox Costa is a lovely resort, approximately ten minutes drive from Nerja and its famous caves and Balcon de Europa, that is not as commercialized as resorts to the West of Malaga such as Torremolinos and Benalmadena. It still retains its' Spanish charm and this is what makes it such an attractive choice for a holiday on the Costa del Sol. At the heart of the resort is its lighthouse or Faro, standing proud and surveying all. The main promenade is full of bars and restaurants, giving visitors plenty of choice in where to eat. The main road parallel to the beach has all the amenities you could wish for- shops, supermarkets, banks and chemists.

Apartment Summary Situated on the ground floor with its own private garden. Finished to the highest standards & tastefully decorated throughout. It can sleep up to six people- one double bedroom, one twin bedroom & a double sofabed in the lounge. An ideal apartment for families or for anyone with a disability as there are ramps throughout the complex, although the apartment has not been specifically adapted for disabled guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven/hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, kettle & toaster. Additional facilities include an iron & ironing board, clothes airer, fire blanket & first aid kit. Open plan lounge comprising two sofas (one of which is a double sofabed), free wi-fi , British satellite TV, DVD player, hi-fi with CD player, books & family games box. Extendable dining table with 6 chairs. Double patio doors leading to private garden with patio area & lawn. Garden table & 4 chairs, parasol & four sunloungers. You will also find a wide selection of useful tourist information in the drawer below the TV.

Location: Torrox Costa La Canada del Barco is situated in Torrox Costa, an easy 45 minutes drive east of Malaga airport along the N340. Torrox Costa's promenade with a wide selection of international restaurants and bars is less than a five minute drive. The beautiful resort of Nerja with its winding streets and the famous Balcon de Europa is a ten minute drive. The local resort of TORROX COSTA is less than a five minute drive. Not as commercialised as nearby Nerja, so you tend to see many more locals. Its beautiful promenade (access for disabled guests) has several bars & restaurants and a childrens playground. The resort has free parking and its own "Balcon" with glass floor over Roman ruins. Market day- Monday.

Places of Interest: The beautiful resort of NERJA is an easy ten minute drive along the coast road. You will find an excellent selection of bars, restaurants & shops, several beaches and the world famous Nerja Caves. Market days- Sunday & Tuesday. Heading north of Nerja, the village of FRIGILIANA is a traditional white washed Andalucian village with cobbled streets nestled in the hill tops. Breath taking views of the Mediterranean & surrounding mountains. A series of twelve ceramic plaques placed around the village depict the story of the Christian reconquest. Best viewed on an organised walking tour. Not recommended for disabled guests or for those with walking difficulties as Frigiliana is very hilly with lots of steps. Other places of interest nearby include Granada (with its Alhambra Palace), Seville, Gibraltar and Morocco. You can arrange day trips to these destinations plus many others through local travel agents.

Shopping: Although there is a well stocked small supermarket across the road from the apartment, we recommend a visit to "El Ingenio", a shopping and leisure complex with a large hypermarket, Eroski, twenty minutes drive in Velex Malaga, just off the N340. (You will drive past this complex on your way from the airport to the apartment). This shopping centre includes many shops, restaurants and a cinema where English language films are shown (check local free newspaper El Sur for film times). Torrox Costa has many supermarkets along its main road and many tourist gift shops along its promenade. Market day is on a Monday. The market is a great place to buy your souvenirs and can be found on Torrox Costa's main road, starting opposite Mercadona supermarket.

We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and well maintained.It was nice to have basic cleaning equipment (washing up liquid and soap etc) already in the apartment. The majority of the other residents were Spanish also enjoying their August break. They held a Fiesta on the Saturday evening in the communal area between the apartment blocks, and we were invited to join. We had no problems with the apartment. Your directions were easy to follow. Thank you for allowing us to stay until we had to leave for our flight home.
