Now a dry river bed and the surrounding area is a haven for all kinds of rare and protected flora and fauna. Campoverde is a friendly, clean, and well maintained village in which to live and holiday, with a thriving mixed community of Spanish and people from all over Europe. It is one of the healthiest places in the world to live as stated by a UN report. The village has a well developed shopping area only restricted in size due to the geographical nature of the village. A splendid range and variety of shops, bars, restaurants, doctors surgeries, chemist, banks, ladies hairdressers, supermarkets, DIY, gift, shoes and clothes shops, I think I`ve mentioned most! On Sunday there is a small weekly open air market where everyone gets together to do a little shopping and to join in the vibrant cafe culture. The village also has a sports complex including tennis courts, basketball, five a side football and a large outdoor swimming pool. There are many great 18 hole golf courses all in the immediate vicinity from Lo Romera only 3 km away to the famous courses of Villa Martin and La Manga. Sports available to enjoy from horse riding, squash, sub aqua, fishing, windsurfing, sailing, fishing tec. One beautiful feature of the village and in particular our villa, is that is located on higher ground than the surrounding area which attracts a nice cooling and refreshing movement of air. Nearby ( 8km ) is the town of Pilar de la Horadada with its weekly market and all facilities, bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, it has many small shaded squares and parks, where you can just relax and watch the world go by! Just beyond the town is the beach, one of the finest anywhere, with almost limitless free parking. There are miles of glorious blue flag beaches close by and for the more adventurous just down the coast towards Cartegena are some spectacular beaches hidden in coves. The next small town 2 km down the road from Pilar is San Pedro, with its fishing heritage, and one of the biggest and most interesting open air markets, with the widest selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, olives to household, gadgets and clothing, in fact just about anything you can think of. San Pedro also boasts one of the best restaurants (The Clock Tower) in the region if not the whole of Spain, expensive but not outrageously so, for special occasions it will surpass the expectations of even the most discerning of people. It is also home to the world renowned Mar Menor ( Minor Sea ) the largest shallow sea water lagoon in Europe, the water is always warm where it is possible to swim and enjoy all kinds of water sports all year round, or take the health giving black mud treatment!

John B - Luxembourgh

Fantastic Villa : June 2019

Andy, Sandra and family - England

Andy and Sandra rated this home 5/5 Stars on 21. Jul 2019

This was our third stay at Villa Marjorie and yet again we had an amazing holiday. The villa has everything you need for a fantastic and relaxing time. The pool is a perfect temperature to cool you down in 30+ degree heat. The bedrooms are large and blessed with air con for a comfortable night's sleep. The location is very peaceful with beautiful views over the Rio Seco from the villa. There is often a pleasant breeze to cool you down while you laze by the pool. Austyn, the owner, is always a pleasure to speak to and answer any questions you may have throughout the booking process. During your stay Mark and Lisa are always on hand to help if required. We cannot stress how perfect it is for our family to enjoy a completely relaxing holiday. We cannot wait to return to Villa Marjorie next year.

Perfect Villa : August 2018

Andy and Sandra - Herts

Perfect Villa to relax and unwind This was our second stay at La Villa Majorie and it was another fabulous holiday. There is ample room inside and out for 6 people. The improvement to the pool area makes a world of difference. There is plenty of space around the pool for all to sunbathe and the pool itself is perfect to cool down and enjoy time together as a family. There is a mister system which helps in 30+ degree heat. As always the villa was clean and tidy and a pleasure to walk into. It is located in a lovely area with great view over the Rio Seco which is a breathtaking sight from either upstairs balcony. There is a good local supermarket and several bars and restaurants within 30 mins walk. The beach is 15 mins by car. There are more supermarkets within 10 mins drive. It really is hard to beat for a fantastic family holiday. The owner Austyn is a pleasure to deal with and Mark and Lisa are on hand locally if needed.

Two weeks fun and relaxation : July 2018

Chris and Joanne - Hertfordshire

Two weeks fun and relaxation. This villa was perfect for our family. Exceptionally well planned and equipped - everything it seemed had been thought about and put in place. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean, with an air conditioning unit in each, plus fans to move the air around. The kitchen was large and airy, with everything we needed. Outside there were plenty of shady areas to have a break from the sun, but plenty of sun loungers and cushions to simply bask if we wanted to. The pool was clean, well maintained and an absolute joy! The area itself is very well serviced with a large choice of supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. Further afield there is plenty of choice - we snorkelled, loafed on beaches and visited castles - so much to choose from to keep you busy. Communication with the owners was great - friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for more. We absolutely loved our holiday here.

Fantastic villa : July 2016

Lorraine Hall - Surrey

Lorraine ?Stayed for 10 nights in July 2016?

Fantastic villa that ticked all the boxes for us! As a family of four, it was probably bigger than what we needed, proving to be excellent value for money and giving us lots of space and options. The kids loved the swimming pool (and enjoyed all the additional inflatables that were there), and were often in there until 7pm in the evening (later some nights!). There seemed to be constant sunshine around the villa, at all hours of the day, but also lots of options for shade when needed. The air conditioning in all the rooms was essential for us (it's not always easy to find this in villas). We liked the village with a nice variety of restaurants and a great atmosphere, often eating out there in an evening (the Rusty Nail does a great breakfast too!) - it probably is walking distance but we took the easy option of driving! The restaurant at the bottom of the hill was also very nice and within walking distance. The actual town of Pilar de la Horadada didn't really impress us but the local beaches were great (in particular Mil Palmeras which had great waves and easy parking) and our favourite day was visiting Cartegna with it's lovely shops and amphitheatre. It wasn't always easy to convince the kids to go out though as they loved being around the villa and in the pool. Austyn was an excellent villa owner providing us with all the information we need prior to the holiday, checking everything was ok whilst we were there and following up with a lovely phone call upon our return. We would highly recommend this villa for a relaxing, fun holiday in the sun.???

Spimply superb : June 2016

Barry Scanlon - Wiltshire

This is the second time we have stayed here, and it is absolutely the best villa we have had over the years! Six of us this time around, plenty of room and everything you need close by. The restaurant at the bottom of the hill by the tennis courts is highly recommended, two minute walk!! The next nearest facilities are about a 15 minute steady walk, where there are a selection of restaurants and bars, all very good especially the Indian. Very quiet and peaceful, totally relaxing location. Main town and beaches are no more than 20 minutes away by car, nearest supermarket about a 10 minute walk - 2 minute drive if you're lazy and need to collect beer (it is heavy you know!) Austyn (the owner) is very helpful, as are Mark and Lisa who live near by. We would highly recommend this villa, and will probably be back again

: December 2015

Will - London

I stayed here with a group of friends in September just to get away from it all and relax. I've got to say the villa delivered and more. I was taken back a bit when we first arrived by the size of the place and general standard, the villa was spotless and huge!! With 6 of us I thought we might step on each other's toes but no chance, it's so spacious. It's everything I wanted, peace and quiet to relax but also a beach and bars all within walking or driving distances if we chose to venture out. A lot of time was spent by the pool and on our last night we had a bbq with all the meat supplied from the local supermarket butcher, it was by far my favourite night and the food was outstanding. Couldn't recommend this place more. Will definitely be looking into booking again next year.

Fantastic holiday home : June 2015

Amie - Newcastle

Stayed for 7 nights in June 2015

I stayed here with my family last summer. What a fantastic way to spend a week away together. There were quite a few of us 7 to be exact. It's extremely spacious and comfortable. Perfect size for a larger group!

The pool is an excellent touch they provide you with sun loungers and pool floats so plenty of possibilities to get a good tan! There is also the roof terrace to relax on as well!

The beach is a short drive away, we ventured out only a few times as we were so happy to have the convenience of the pool right on our doorstep! The local shops are about a 5 minute drive away as well. There's plenty cooking facilities including an outside barbecue we used this literally every day!!

Great for larger groups if you're looking for a quiet week away it's a holiday home me and my family will definitely be returning.

Ho!iday of a lifetime : May 2015

Paul - Peterborough

Stayed for 7 nights in May 2015

We stayed at this Villa in May of this year. The weather was outstanding, even that early into the season. The villa was extremely spacious for the 4 of us. With two large bedrooms on the upper floor. From here there is a great view of the Rio Seco nature reserve pine woodlands. We really could have spent the whole holiday at the villa, it is very well appointed, with WiFi, a flat screen tv, BBQ, small gym and a great pool to relax by. Within a small walk, there are some lovely local bars and restaurants. The Rusty Nail has live music over the weekend. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you should require. I really can't recommend this villa enough. With great communication from the owner Austyn, we felt extremely welcome.
