Attractive villa,own pool , Aircon in a quiet but convenient location

The villa is fabulously located and only five minutes from the wonderful sandy Arenal beach. It's also easy to reach the secluded coves (miradors in Spanish). In the last two years the villa has had extensive work carried out including the installation of a brand new kitchen (including dishwasher and washing machine), new beds and bedroom furniture, painting, SMART television,wifi etc. A brand new bathroom was installed in March 2018. The villa has four bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate groups of eight people. It is set on one level with four steps leading to the terraced area. There are two bedrooms with double beds and one of these bedrooms is en-suite. There are another two bedrooms each containing two single beds. The lounge is large with one end hosting a dining table and the other end having the television and sofa and chairs. The lounge leads into the naya (an enclosed, covered area) which also has a sofa and comfortable seating as well as another two tables. The naya takes you to the large poolside area where there are recliners for you to sit back and enjoy the sun. As well as the ensuite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet there is another bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and sink. There is one additional toilet too. There is a DVD player, BOSE bluetooth enabled speaker and board games. The kitchen contains a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven with hob, kettle, liquidiser etc. The driveway can accommodate three vehicles.

The villa is on one level, except for the new en suite bedroom. There are Tosca stone arches and with beamed ceilings.The naya (verandah)is double glazed and provides an excellent breakfast area overlooking the pool.

Javea: Javea is situated on Spain's Costa Blanca mid-way between Valencia and Alicante. It is divided into three parts - the old mediaeval hilltop town with its narrow streets and historic buildings, the active port and marina and the modern development around the large sandy blue flag beach. In all areas there are numerous supermarkets, banks, restaurants, bars and cafes. You will not find high rise apartment blocks, although like the rest of Spain, apartment and villa development have proliferated in recent years. You can have a very relaxing holiday pottering between beach, restaurants and the villa but nearby towns of Moraira, Denia, Gata, Jalon all have something to offer. Alicante has its castle and Valencia is superb with its modern architectural wonders and its science museum and aquarium. There is also Benidorm with Aqualandia and Terra Mitica theme park, Guadalest in the mountains, and Polop with its springs, There are two golf courses in Javea itself and others not too far away.

A real home from home : August 2012

My family and I recently spent a relaxing fortnight here at Dos Palmas, and would highly recommend it. The villa is spacious, clean and comfortable and very well equipped - a real home from home. A new bedroom with en-suite facilities has been built since we were here last, and the extra space has really enhanced the property.

The villa is situated in a quiet residential area on a hill, which meant we always had a pleasant breeze. The pool is the perfect size for children to enjoy and has a large, sunny patio area for loungers. The garden is very pretty and a large tree provides some welcome shade during the day. If you find ripe fruit in the orchard, you are encouraged to help yourselves to as much as you can eat. When we visited in July last year, we made lemonade every day!

Javea itself is an attractive town with plenty to do and see. The Arenal (beach area) has a clean, sandy beach which has shady palm trees and climbing frames for children, and there are many diverse restaurants and bars to choose from. The port area is quieter and very pleasant during the evening, although the beach here is pebbly. The old town is definitely worth a visit - it has some interesting medieval houses, ancient St Bartholomew's Church and an old indoor market.

We will certainly visit Javea and Dos Palmas again.


A lovely relaxing holiday ! : July 2012

We have just spent a lovely 2 weeks at Dos Palmas. This beautiful villa, has a wonderful pool and spacious garden. The pool was fantastic (and cleaned regularly by the pool assistant). Our children spent most of the holiday playing in the pool, whilst we relaxed on the sun loungers! We have stayed at this villa previously and the owners have made some nice changes to the pool area and an extra bedroom with ensuite bathroom. There is a lovely patio area, under the vine, to sit in the evenings. We also enjoyed some lovely BBQs, the local Mas y Mas supermarket has a great meat counter.

The weather was wonderful, most days a sunny 32 degrees. We made several trips to the Miradors (viewing points around Javea), details of which we got from the tourist information office on the arenal. We also enjoyed some lovely evenings at the port in Javea watching the fishing boats come in and out of the harbour. The old town area of Javea is lovely and definitely worth a visit. The market is there on a Thursday morning. The museum in the old town is also worth a visit, as is the indoor market and the church. There are lots of nice bars around for a cafe con leche.

There is a great selection of restaurants in Javea, our favourite is Los Almendros del Montgo, with it's very reasonable Menu del Dia. We also like the Tapas at Calima, and fish at Azorin in the port. We also like the Casa de la Pasta, this has an outdoor play area for children and delicious food!

Dos Palmas is a traditional Spanish villa with the luxury of its own pool and well maintained gardens. Our family - my husband and I and two children aged 7 and 9 - enjoyed a week of relaxation and quality time together. The children loved the pool and we ate out on the beautiful patio every day. The living quarters are clean and homely and the kitchen is well equipped. There is also a BBQ on the patio, which we used often. Situated on its own, large plot this holiday villa is very private with plenty of space to spread out.

The villa is close to a large, sandy beach as well as a wide range of restaurants and shops. We took advantage of the menu del dia (menu of the day) when we ate out, which was good value. There are plenty of supermarkets in the town as well as bread and cake shops. The old town is worth a visit, especially the church in the centre and the indoor market.

The directions to the villa were very clear and the owner was very helpful. We would certainly recommend this villa to friends and look forward to our next visit to Dos Palmas.
