Outdoor living is what it's about on MAR AZUL. The master-bedroom (with en-suite facilities) opens directly onto the spacious terrace & lawn through giant glass sliding doors. There is a fitted mosquito curtain so that the doors can be left fully open for ventilation during the day or night. There are very large wardrobes in both bedrooms, and bed-side table with lights to all beds. There is a safe in the master bedroom. Surround-sound, and underfloor heating in both too. Air-con of-course, which doubles up as another efficient form of heating for the cooler months. The thermostatically-controlled underfloor heating makes it a pleasure to use both of these bathrooms at all times of the year, and ensures quick drying of towels ! Great beachside apartment : September 2014

We stayed for 4 weeks at Mar Azul and everything was perfect, also the weather.

The apartment has everything you need for a great stay. With 3 small kids under 6 years old, we especially liked the floor heating and that the apartment was so cool that we did not need to use the air con. The sleeping facilities was also great and the sleeping sofa is the best I have tried. The owner Brian is very service minded and provides you all the information you need for a fantastic stay.

Our kids especially liked the pool, with many shallow areas for them to play in.

We also found the staff friendly, especially the man in charge of the pool.

Hopefully we can come back sometime

We stayed in Brian´s apartment No. E5 in MAR AZUL now for the third year. It is really super luxurious, everything you need you will find there and the whole complex is breathtaking. The owner Brian is very correct and very helpfully in all things. Because we have written our impressions already before, this time our daughter (13 years old) wanted to describe her impressions:

I love my own room in the apartment with the great bed. Preferably I spend the time in the amazing pool. a lot of fun makes a treasure search because there are so much hidden places in the water and the garden. This year I was also often with my parents in the sea or on the beach to search for mussels. Our excursions to Marbella (Shopping center La Canada in the Hollister shop), Malaga and to Seville were also nice. With pleasure I lie around in the wonderful garden and thanks to Wifi I can chat there also with my girlfriends. I hope, we will come back here the next year again.


Heaven on Earth : May 2013

We had a really fantastic time staying in this luxury ocean-front apartment. Every aspect of life in this paradise was just a pleasure. Even in April you can go sightseeing all day, come back to the apartment at 7-8pm and still go for a swim in the pool and in the sea. Also, the spa is an absolute joy.

We had a lot of fun driving round the mountain roads going up towards beautiful Ronda, and visiting places like Marbella and Gibraltar as well. Clubbing in Puerto Banus we can recommend. So thanks for such a great week.

Only thing I would flag up to those interested in staying here is that the location means a hire car is definitely necessary.


Great Resort : June 2012

We stayed at Mar Azul from 31st May for a week with our 10 year old daughter. The first day on resort was very quiet, only us and 2 other couples. The following day other guests arrived and stopped us worrying that we would be the only guests, i think this was due to the school holidays.

The resort has 72 apartments of which quite are few are completely empty, this made the resort very quiet and peaceful.

The pool area is stunning with the infinity pool looking out to sea although the perimeter fencing does spoil the view. The fencing does make the resort very safe for children because you have your own keys to get in and out of the gates.

The pool bar is very nice, serving drinks and snacks and quite cheap compared to other bars in the area, coffees and beers are 1.50 euros and most lunch items are only 3 euros.

The apartment is extremely well equipped, you do not need to take anything with you except beach towels. lots of sun beds are available and we never went near the pool before 10.30am as you did not have to try and reserve the sun beds.

You definitely need a car to get to local Super Markets as there is not much within walking distance.

All in all it is a really great resort, very relaxing with very friendly staff and although we try and go to different locations every year i do think we will be going back.

Brian's spacious apartment is a very good recommendation when staying in Estepona!

You can do nothing wrong except getting lost in his large apartment equipped with all you need for a pleasant stay (from kitchen aid to towels to flat screen tv incl. sky to secured parking garage in the basement).

All in all a good choice!! Two thumbs up!

In the event of a holiday needing to be cancelled, I ask to be advised as soon as possible, whereupon I will use my best endeavours to re-let. If I can re-let, I will return your deposit, less any expenses incurred for additional advertising etc. I strongly advise that cancellation insurance is taken out.
