This property & ideal location is for families seeking both relaxation, adventure, novelty & history. Casanova is located just a five minute car ride from the sparkling Mediterranean beach. Situated in Calpe on the Costa Blanca, it lies at the foot of the spectacular Penon de Ifach. This rock is the symbol of Calpe, & by extension, the Costa Blanca. It is the highest rock in the entire Mediterranean & divides the Calpe shoreline into two clean, white, enchanting beaches. At its foot snuggles the impressive marina, together with the wharves where, daily, the local fishermen bring in their sturdy, laden fishing boats. The townhouse has easy access to all amenities, including the local market for bargain hunting, & many excellent restaurants for eating out. Many of these are situated along the 2 mile promenade, that hugs the Mediterranean coastline. A number of modern supermarkets are close by, making self-catering a pleasant experience. The townhouse benefits from its own communal pool.

The townhouse is spread over 4 levels: a roof terrace for enjoying sea & mountain views (& clothes drying facilities), the next level down with 2 double bedrooms (the main one with its own Romeo and Juliet balcony), plus the large family bathroom (which includes a bath with shower, toilet, bidet, large hand basin & washing machine). The ground floor level is the main living area which includes the open plan lounge, dining section & modern, well-equipped kitchen (which includes a dishwasher). The guest toilet is tucked at the foot of the tiled staircase. The lounge opens out onto a covered balcony where a table & chairs have been placed for your convenience. Adjoining the main balcony is a tiled patio area where additional leisure furniture may be placed. A further self-contained unit is to be found in the basement. It accommodates 4 people and will be considered as an overflow to the main house only when 6 people in the same party have booked to stay in the main house.

Calpe's Old Town offers excellent traditional cuisine and a fabulous Spanish atmosphere Where is Calpe ? Located in the East of Spain ( Valencia Region ) within the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca Nearest Airport Alicante - 50 mins drive - 65 km Nearest Beach  1km - 5 mins drive Nearest Shops  1km  - 5 mins drive Nearest Motorway  A7 - 10 mins drive Nearest Train Station  Calpe - 10 mins drive - 2 km The Costa Blanca boasts of white beaches and blue, waveless sea. Besides the main, tourist beaches, there are numerous little coves, tucked away but easily accessible within a few miles of Calpe. Just a short ride away on the toll road is Benidorm, with its massive superstores and world status theme parks and dolphin attractions. Inland one is able to enjoy the ragged beauty of the region - vast spaces interspersed with craggy hills and little villages that on first appearance give the impression of being frozen in time. Weather is perfect most of the year round, with mild to hot temperatures and moderate rainfall.

Both bedrooms are large and airy. The master bedroom has a balcony that has distant views of the sea and rock. The main bathroom is on the same floor (there is a guest toilet downstairs). (This accommodation excludes the underbuild which is only let out if the group exceeds 6 people).

The main bathroom comprises a bath with overhead shower, hand basin, toilet and bidet. The washing machine is also situated here.

Living Room There are two sleeper couches in the living room area, a coffee table and hi-fi. The TV receives English programmes as well as Spanish. There is also a DVD player and several DVD's available to watch. Guests are free to bring their own. I am also building a library of 'holiday reading' books. Board games such as 'scrabble' have been provided. The living room door leads onto a covered veranda (with table and chairs) and extends into a patio area at the side of the house. I have a 'lockup' on the roof terrace which houses a family size portable barbecue, buckets, spades, goggles, body boards, umbrellas, mats, toys etc. - all intended for use by guests.
Dining Area Seating for 6 at an extendable dining table. All crockery and cutlery (together with cooking utensils) are supplied.

The Calpe/ Ortembach Area: The town of Calpe boasts of a modern 'new town', together with its traditional 'old town' - steeped in the history of the region. The weather is good all year round. Even in winter the temperature seldom falls below 18 degrees Celsius.Restaurants adorn the two mile long promenade that snakes along the shoreline of Calpe. Famous for its fish, the tourist is spoiled for choice as the restaurateurs tempt the tourists with their attractively displayed wares and clean surroundings. Religious and historical festivals (such as the Moors and Christians pageants), the fiestas and carnivals are very visible by their colour, their fireworks and their flamboyant outfits. Every Saturday morning there is a two mile long market in the streets of Calpe. Bargains are to be found, from leather wares to clothing, kitchenware to fruit and vegetables. Wednesdays boast of a traditional 'flea market' where bargains of all kinds can be found.

... Underwater sports as well as the more sedate ride in the glass bottomed boats are there to made this a memorable holiday for the tourist. Courses are available at the different 'schools'. The challenge of climbing the Penon de Ifach is there on a variety of levels. The summit of the rock can be visited in organised groups and in the Nature Auditorium the rich flora and fauna of the park is explained.

How to get there: * Easyjet flies from Liverpool, London Gatwick and other major airports to Alicante. * Ryanair also flies from London Gatwick, as does Monarch and Jet2.com. * Flights from London take approximately 2 and a half hours to Alicante airport. * I keep a car in a compound next to the airport. Details of this option can be discussed on request. I pledge to beat commercial rates and the use of my car may be included in the package.* Prior to purchasing my car, I used www.doyouspain.com in order to source my rental vehicle. * Leaving Alicante Airport, follow the motorway A7 towards Valencia. Leaving the terminal you will see the national road sign identifying 'all routes'. * Follow the Valencia signs. Initially you join two-way traffic, but after about 5 mins you see the Valencia turn-off to your right. This road then joins into the toll road. Firstly, however, you will go through a very long tunnel (don’t forget to put your lights on). * At the toll gate, take a ticket – you only pay once you’ve left the toll at Calpe/Altea. The cost is approximately 5 Euros.

.... * After about 55km take exit nr. 64 signed ‘Calpe, Altea’. Once through the toll, follow the road straight on towards Calpe. You will be on the N332. It is fairly steep and twisty in places. You will go thorough 3 consecutive, very short tunnels along the way. Just after the ‘Calpe sur’ sign, you will see a welcoming garden feature, where you turn down. * At the ‘Calpe sur’ exit, go straight through the first two roundabouts. In the third roundabout turn left, you will have a shopping centre on your right, ‘Plaza Central'. You go straight into another roundabout, go straight across. Continue for a couple of kilometres, going through the first roundabout (bearing right) and the second roundabout you turn left in order to execute a loop around into the road that has recently become a one way. My house is on your left hand (last turnoff prior to entering the circle again). My town house is the second ‘block’ on the right – 38V.

My vehicle is a 2 litre diesel Peugeot Partner and has ample luggage space.*The amount quoted is inclusive of water and electricity, together with the preparation of the townhouse prior to arrival and cleaning up afterwards. As all bedding, bath and beach towels are supplied, leaving the premises only involves packing up your personal belongings.*Two large gas cylinders (for heating) are supplied in winter. Refills are the responsibility of the rentee. *There is no air-conditioning. Floor standing fans are supplied. There is a newly fitted ceiling fan in the living area.
