Almerimar Holiday Villa on the Beachfront - Quiet, yet close to Shops

A beautiful beach house on the Alboran Sea, the western part of the Mediterranean. Along with six other houses it is located on a quiet place at approximately 700 m outside the village of Guardias Viejas, not far from the well-known resort of Almerimar. Within a radius of 7 km you will find all possible activities, bars, restaurants and shops. You have plenty of space within the walled garden of 3500 m2. The house has several terraces where you can sit, lie or enjoy the sun loungers of the beautiful sea. The Mediterranean Sea is only 35 m outside the garden, and you can lie back on the shore or swim in the sea. Give children water and sand, and they are completely happy. For anglers and snorkelers it's also a paradise. You can walk or bike undisturbed along the beach, 5 km to the east and 5 km to the west. Under guidance you can make a horse ride along the beach from a stable at 6 km. A superb location on the Costa de Almeria for an ultimate beach holiday. The beach house El Montecillo is a unique place on the beach of Guardias Viejas. It is built on a small hillside with a 18th century fortress and a beautiful view not only the Mediterranean but also on the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada. The interior of El Montecillo is contemporary and functional as a beach house should be. The house has two large living and sitting rooms of 50 m2 with sofas, a dining area, a wood burner for possible chilly nights and an additional sofa bed for two persons. One of the rooms has a stunning sea view. The kitchen is fully equipped including a stove, a gas stove and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and an espresso machine, extractor, fridge and freezer, and of course a dishwasher. There are three bedrooms. Two bedrooms each have a double bed. The third bedroom has four single beds. There are two bathrooms: one large bathroom with bath, shower basin, bidet mirror and hair dryer. The smaller bathroom has a shower, wash basin, mirror and toilet. The house is air conditioned, has got Wi-Fi / internet access, satellite TV, a VCR, a DVD player and several VHS movies. There is also a washer, dryer and iron. The house is wheelchair accessible. However, there are no braces in the house. Under the house a completely independent apartment is built, with a private parking, a private entrance and private beach access. The owner and/or manager occupy that apartment. Outside you have an enclosed garden of 3500 m2, where you can enjoy undisturbed. On the terraces there is sufficient furniture, and you can use the outside grill. On-site is a private parking lot. It is a perfect place to enjoy an undisturbed holiday because it lies just outside the busy tourist centre, and yet is reasonably within reach of all shops, bars, restaurants and discos. The name of the village of Guardias Viejas (The Old Guard) goes back to the 15th century when watchtowers protected the coast from pirate attacks. Guardias Viejas is a neighbourhood of the municipality of El Ejido and houses just over 500 people. It has a rich history. Along the road from Guardias Viejas to Almerimar a port was situated there in the first century, from which olive oil, wine and brine (salt) was exported to Rome. The port became silted up; leaving a long sandy beach was created. In the Middle Ages, a square tower was built to guard the coast, which was later rebuilt into the castle. After the restoration in the 80s, there is a permanent exhibition of clothes and weapons of the Napoleonic era. In the summer there are music and theatre performances. In the first century the Romans built also medicinal baths in the region. These Roman baths was widely used by people seeking salvation for their illnesses. Every year, on July 25, they celebrate the region's patron saint's feast day. The tourist resort Almerimar (7km) is a small paradise on the Spanish coast. There are many shops, restaurants and bars serving alcoholic drinks with the famous regional "Tapas". Also, discos are not lacking there. There are plenty of outdoor activities here, including sailing, wind-surfing, fishing, tennis, swimming, horseback riding, golf and much more! In the port 1100 vessels up to 60 meters can moor. This makes Marina Almerimar one of the largest marinas in Spain. There is also an equestrian centre where you can horseback riding and make guided trips on the beach. The 27-hole Almerimar Golf Course is located in a beautiful landscape of exceptional beauty with palms and lakes and of course with the delightful Mediterranean climate of Andalusia. The course offers golf enthusiasts enormous play possibilities and challenges. There is also the Golf Academy Almerimar, where golf professionals will instruct you. Beginners, children and adults can train on a putting green, a chipping area, a bunker and a 9-hole course, par 36. For more advanced level an 18-hole golf course is available. There are several programs and clinics, where all aspects of the game can be practiced. Lovers of winter sports can head for the slopes within 2 hours. The slopes are just above Granada in the Sierra Nevada and have a combined length of 60 km. The slopes are open from late December to late March. Besides skiing, there are also plenty possibilities for hiking and climbing.

Das Haus hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen, es ist sehr geräumig und gut unterhalten. Alles funktioniert einwandfrei. Klaas de Groot ist ein perfekter Vermieter, er hat uns bei allem unterstützt und er hält das Haus in tadellosem Zustande. Das Haus liegt etwas abgelegen, wer die Einsamkeit sucht, ist hier am richtigen Ort. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten hat es in der Nähe, die Autobahn ist ca. 7km entfernt. Der Strand besteht aus groben Sand und kleinen Steinen, es hat auch einige Felsen, der Zugang ins Meer ist aber problemlos. Sollte auch mal schlecht Wetter sein, so ist das Haus gemütlich und man kann auch mal einen Tag problemlos drinnen sein und so die wunderschöne Aussicht aufs Meer geniessen. Die Aussendusche ist sehr praktisch und es hat wirklich genügend Liegestühle und Strandtücher - das entlastet den Koffer doch sehr. Wir würden dieses Haus jedem weiterempfehlen und kommen auch gerne wieder!

la casa aveva tutte le aspettative come descrizione sul sito la vista e' veramente mozzafiato e' ideale per estraniarsi da tutto e ideale per famiglie numerose.mare con sassi utili scarpette lavastoviglie lavatrice forno asciugatrice tutto funzionante. grazie al proprietario che vive sotto ma in disparte non e' mai mancato niente.doccia esterna fantastica zona barbecue e griglia ottima sedie e lettini e ombrelloni a volonta'. consigliabile per chi ama visitare spiagge fantistiche.cittadine piu' vicina almerimar ottimi ristoranti e supermercati.

We have just spent two weeks in the balmy climate prevailing here near to Almeria. The places to visit are not close but with the autovià nothing takes too long. We particularly liked Fort Bravo, Isleta de Moro, Cabo de Gata, the old city in Almeria and the charming nearby town of Adra. Almerimar is a deserted eyesore where you have to go because of the excellent supermarket (Mercadona). Roquetas is worse! The house is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. there are 4 large sofas in all, an enormous sun room, a fireplace that works well. DVDs and VHS galore. The owner, Klaas, is a most pleasant, helpful and interesting person.
