La Mariposa offers the best of all worlds - approximately 1 hour from Malaga airport; 25 minutes from the lively seaside resort of Torre del Mar and shopping malls; 15 minutes from a wonderful lake, and 10 minutes from local bars and shops.

Its a world away from the hustle and bustle you want to leave behind. You can choose to walk, ride horses, water sports, play golf- or just laze by the pool with a good book and and a glass of something cold. Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Cadiz are all reachable on a day trip. Car hire is essential.

A village steeped in history on the edge of the Sierra Tejeda Park Where is Vinuela ? 15minutes inland from the beaches of the Costa del Sol and the important market town of Velez Malaga lies the village of Vinuela. The farmhouse is situated in the spanish countryside with stunning views, a Buddha stupa and moroccan tower some 600 years old. Three routes lead to the house - from Viñuela, from Benarmagosa and Triana and from Triana airport. In Triana and Benarmagosa, there are a variety of shops, banks, bars and restaurants plus public swimming pools. Horse riding and hiking are on your doorstep, however, the local birds and wildlife are worth watching too. Eagles, hawkes and falcon are among the many spotted birds of prey. Goats meander through the countryside with rabbits and foxes. Casa Mariposa is situated in a tiny village called Las Chozas which consists of a clutter of white washed farmhouses, many occupied by local spanish families. Within easy access of Casa Mariposa is a large commercial shopping centre, which offers a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, a super market and cinema. Opposite the shopping centre is a water park which is open from June to September. The nearest beach resort is Torre del Mar, but a 40 minute drive gets you to Nerja which offers a variety of beaches with all amenites. The city of malaga is a 50 minute drive which offers more sophisticated shopping, museums, theatres and exhibitions. During the Christmas period, there is a market and the spectacular processions for "The Three Kings". Velez Malaga is only 15 kms away and the nearest market town - during Easter this town boasts one of the most spectacular Easter parades. An ideal location for those of you that wish to use this as a base to visit Andalucia. You are 2 hours from Seville and Cordoba, 1.5 hours from Granada and the sierra Nevada for skiing.

La Mariposa: Styled in the Andalucian manner there are cool quarry tiles throughout the house and cooling ceiling fans in each room. The kitchen/diner comfortably seats 5, and is equipped with fridge/freezer; 5 ring hob and oven; microwave/grill; toaster; electric kettle; espresso machine etc. The separate lounge with TV, DVD and music facilities also has a bar area and drinks fridge for after-dinner relaxing. The lower covered veranda has a large table and seating beneath moroccan style lighting - so, al fresco dining is a must. Or treat yourself to an afternoon of sunbathing on the loungers provided and then to an evening barbeque, before cooling off in the floodlit pool. Upstairs there are two self-contained en-suite bedrooms: one has a double bed and the other 3 single beds, making the house ideal for families. Both rooms have french doors leading to the upper terrace, which has tables and chairs for relaxing and taking in the fantastic views.

Location: 3 kms away are the villages of Benarmagosa and Triana which offer a selection of bars, shops and restaurants and public swimming pools. 15 kms away is a water park and large commercial shopping centre with cinema, supermarket and selection of shops. You are 17 kms away from a selection of beach resorts with water sports and boat hire available.
