Villamartin - Popular resort with its choice of championship golf courses & busy nightlife Where is Villamartin ? 40 mins from Alicante and 20 mins from Murcia on the Costa Blanca nr Torrevieja Nearest Airport Alicante - 55 km Nearest Beach La Zenia - 7 km Alternative Airport Murcia, San Javier - 55 km Alicante is famous for Turon, salt, national wildlife parks and of course vast long sandy beaches all indicated by the sign PLAYAS. At Km 75 on the N332 there is a clothed and unclothed beach set alongside a protected park and recently protected sand dunes. Advisable to bring wind screens to all beaches as the wind can suddenly appear. In Torrevieja , just 20 minutes north from the villa there is a wooden walk at the harbour, a submarine museum, and a funfair. Parking is available in underground carpark costing 0.03cents per minute. best decide to use the carparks for safety and don't loose time driving around for a space. English language paper Costa Blanca News give very good INFO. Also 2 Theatres which are not expensive to visit for shows. Visit the tourist office at end of promenade for leaflets on what's on.

Villamartin/ El Galan Area: There are 4 fine golf courses within 15 minutes of villa. Also a National Park for bird watchers.The famous Salt lakes are close by and the administrative town of San Miguel de Salinas is 8Km further inland which has a very easy going market on Wednesday. On Saturday at Flaminco there is a big busy market. Buy your vegetables at the market. Watch you handbag. Use the shopping trolley in Villa. If you opt NOT to hire a car transport to/from Alicante and Murcia airports can be arranged and names of reliable and reasonable taxi men available

How to get there: Alicante Airport is only 55Km from the villa south on the N332 or Motorway (tolls). Murcia Airport is 27Km south of the villa on the N332. Ryanair has a hub at Alicante and flies from Ireland, UK and most continental European cities. Train services to Alicante (extension to Torrevieja on the way) The N332 is for the most part a coastal road passing many beaches and is currently being upgraded to a dual carriage way. there is a naturist beach at 75Km called La Marina. Having a rented/own car is an advantage depending what your interest are. Always pre book your car & there are many large supermarkets easily accessible on the N332 to get the essential food items to start your holiday.
