La Mariposa is a lovely modernized apartment in the old part of town, in a quiet street near the Plaza de España (2 min walking distance), the most picturesque plaza of Vejer. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Overlooking the garden, La Mariposa has a large private terrace with stunning views of the countryside; it is the perfect holiday place for a family of two or three, four if this is a small child. Parking is nearby, which is a rare luxury in Vejer.

Andalusia, where the sun shines more than 300 days a year, is probably the most diverse province of Spain. In the virtually unexplored south-west of this province lays Vejer de la Frontera, a stunning pueblo blanco, rich in authentic culture and natural beauty. The old town presents inspiring historical sites, picturesque patios and balconies amongst the cobbled alleyways, as well as numerous inviting bars and restaurants. Residing in Vejer provides a fantastic opportunity to explore this gorgeous region.

The house of which the apartment 'La Mariposa' is part of is built against the mountain, hence the magnificient views over the plains of La Janda. Sitting on the terrace one is on eye level with the majestic birds of prey sailing through the sky while many other birds are daily guests in the garden. The apartment can be reached by two steep stairs, either by going up or down from the different levels. Although the location of 'La Mariposa' gives a suburbian feeling in reality it is only a few minutes walking to the center of town with shops, restaurants and many terraces.

Accessibility: The historic apartment 'La Mariposa' has been built half into the mountain and is therefor only accessible via stairs, either descending from the top or ascending from the bottom. Usually one can find parking space near the bottom of the stairs. Guests with walking difficulties are dis-encouraged to consider to rent this apartment, or even Vejer de la Frontera, as this town with its steep streets and many staircases is difficult to navigate for disabled persons.
