Location: Puerto Banus is a holiday resort situated in the desirable district of Marbella in the Costa del Sol. 40 minutes drive from Malaga Intl. Airport or similar distance to Gibralter Airport. You can also get flights from the U.K. to Jerez Airport (Ryanair) which is 90 minutes drive, Seville, Granada and Cordoba at a 2 hour drive. The area is well known as a retreat for the rich and famous but it's accomodation such as this which is accessible for very reasonable rates. For more information on the area go to; http://www.puertobanusguide.com Shopping / Entertainment: Shopping for essentials can be done in local supermarket at a 10 min. walk. 'El Corte Ingles' hypercor at a 15 min. walk in the Port fulfills all of your shopping needs and they will deliver your shopping free of charge. There is an open-air market at just a 15 min. walk and is one of the biggest on the Costa del Sol. The Port itself will dazzle you for choice of restaurants, bars and clubs and is regarded as the capital of the Costa del Sol's nightlife. There are traditional Spanish, Thai and Chinese restaurants very close to the apartment and if the hectic nightlife of the Port is not your lot, then a quiet relaxing night at the Casino at 500 metres may tempt you. Or even more relaxing, enjoy one of the small library of videos supplied for your enjoyment. Transport: There is a bus stop at 100 metres from the apartment and the bus will take you right along the Coast and with connections to all other towns. There are many bus tours available to the tourist sites and can be booked locally or at the Tourist Office. If you prefer to be independent we can supply you with details of a car hire company which gives our clients a discount (Car hire rates in Spain a very reasonable). Taxis are to be had locally and a taxi from Malaga Intl. Airport to apartment will cost approx 70 Euro. Flight from the U.K. arrive at Malaga (45 mins by car), Gibralter (45 mins), Jerez(100 mins.), Granada (120 mins.), Seville (120 mins.), Cordoba (120 mins). Activities: This area is a Golfer's paradise with over 40 championship courses, including Valderama, Las Brisas, La Quinta, San Roque to name but a few. All water sports are catered for. The bull-ring is only a 10 min. walk. Nueva Andalucia International Tennis club is just behind the apartment block. There is a Cinema in the Port which shows films in Spanish and is the only one in the Costa del Sol which shows films in English. Although we have 320 days of sunshine in the Costa del Sol, believe it or not, you are only a 2 hour drive to snow skiing in the winter at the Sierra Nevada. (Why not organise a sun/ski holiday).
