For a change of scene you can visit Granada, the ancient capital of the Moorish Kingdom & the magnificent Arabian 'Alhambra' Palace with its stunning gardens. Or take a breathtaking drive up the mountains to Ronda, which has a medieval bridge spanning a 500 ft gorge & is home to the oldest bullring in Spain.
Nearer to Home: There are very good restaurants to suit all pockets, many highly recommended. There are numerous golf courses in the locality & the famous 'Lew Hoad Campo de Tennis' is based in Mijas where they have first class tennis facilities, as well as a bar & an excellent restaurant.
