Pay as you go entrance (no membership required). LOS GIGANTES has pay-as-you-go (5 euros pp) open swimming baths (with clean changing facilities and loungers) adjacent to the open sea. SUNSEEKERS!: Tenerife South Island is very different from Tenerife North Island. The former is generally flat , sandy arid with beaches aplenty (starting south & travelling clock-wise west bound) Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, Adeje, Playa San Juan, Playa de la Arena, Puerto Santiago, Los Gigantes...it's the SUN half of the island..IN contrast the north half of the island (with capital Santa Cruz and Puerto de La Cruz) is on higher altitude and much much greener....and generally substantially cooler...it is perfectly possible and not uncommon for it to be a cool often wet in Puerto de la Cruz (North) yet be dry and sunny in the south...

Puerto Santiago / Tamaimo Area: Puerto Santiago has a relaxed laid back atmosphere with many people returning year after year. It has a reasonable variety of restaurants, some of which are excellent ("El Meson", left as you enter Puerto Santiago from (north exit) and bars most within walking distance... along with a scattering of mini-supermarkets. it is home to Playa de Arena (Blue Flag Award year after year) with its dark sands plus aesthetically appealing, palm tree-lined promenade... Los Gigantes is smaller but no less enchanting, with its own harbour (boat excursions available here) .There is also a tiny but quaint beach here...it has a good range of restaurants, tea shops, gift shops, and some boutiques...duty-free shopping available here..

How to get there: Frequent flights available from many airports to Reina Sofia Airport (TFS), south Tenerife. The apartment is approx 30 - 40 minutes drive from the airport. Best current flight operators: www.bookflights.monarch.co.uk. Car hire from 120 euros per week inc insurance: Betacar, Cicar , Europcar (on arrival at TFS) .Alternative mode of transfer to property: taxi costing approx 45 - 60 euros or a reliable minibus company called elmarbookings.com 54 euros return for two people.
