There is a fabulous and extensive terrace for relaxing in the sun, also a covered BBQ area for those who prefer a little shade. Location: The two main cities of Murcia and Cartagena, are both within easy driving distance. The former is about 25 minutes away, and the latter no more than 15 minutes. Both of these places are full of historical interest, with museums, art galleries, great restaurants, tapas bars and lots of quality shops. There are lots of smaller places of interest as well, such as Cabo de Palos with its harbour, and extensive fish restaurants and bars. There are lots of local markets, from La Union to Los Belones. The closest beach (La Cala) is a 3 or 4 minute drive, and has a wonderful fish restaurant set into the face of the rocks overlooking the sea. Mar de Cristal just ten minutes away has the coveted blue flag award, this is a beautiful and safe place to enjoy the calm waters of the Mar Menor. There are 250km of beaches and coves on the Costa Calida, many offering watersports and other activities. Some of these are designated national or regional parks, and they have outstanding natural beauty.

Tennis & much more: Tennis: The La Manga Tennis Centre is one of the finest outdoor facilities in Europe and has even hosted such prestigious events as the Davis Cup. Centrally located it boasts 28 courts, most of which are floodlit, with a choice of clay, astroturf or hard surfaces. The Villa - Further Details: The property has a very large sun terrace/balcony, part of which is covered over for those who prefer a little shade. Within this shaded area is a proper barbecue, and a table with chairs that seats 8 comfortably. There are 4 shared swimming pools, all within a couple of minutes walk, each one offers sun beds, and shade if required. Villa La Galeria provides FREE WIFI. If you do not have your own laptop or mobile phone and still want to send or receive e.mails or phone home, there is a help and communication centre just 3 minutes from the villa, at the end of the road. There are plenty of really good restaurants and bars, all within easy walking distance. One of the nearest is the 'Windmill' which is a great lunchtime watering hole, and also open in the evening.
