Set in attractive gardens, the apartment overlooks the large communal pool. The terrace has patio furniture and catches the best of the sunshine from midday until the sun goes down - making eating out a delight. A lockable gate can prevent young children making a break for the pool, unsupervised. A cot can be hired for £20 per week (£30 per fortnight)

This ground floor apartment on La Senia complex is our holiday home - and we love both it, and Javea! Set in a quiet private road, ideally situated for all amenities, you can walk to the seafront and beach bars in five minutes. A small, well-stocked supermarket is just over the road.

The bustling Port at Javea, with its marina, shops, restaurants and bars is 15 minutes walk and the blue flag beach of the Arenal, with its long promenade of bars, restaurants and clubs is a half hour stroll or five minutes by car. The distinctly Spanish old town is also walkable. There's plenty to do in Javea, but it never seems to get that busy even in the height of season, making it an ideal place to chill out, and a good base to explore the surrounding area, including the more commercialised resorts of Benidorm and Calpe.

Local Activities: Walking and mountaineering in the Montgo National Park, cycling, watersports, horse-riding, golf, boat trips. There is plenty to do in Javea - not least the frequent fiestas! - but it is also handy for the bright lights of Benidorm (40 minutes by car) with its dinner shows, shopping, water parks and theme parks, such as Terra Mitica. Or, for an antidote to that, visit the remote and magical Grendella cove with its one beach restaurant and (optional) walk along the headland (definitely not suitable for the young, the old or the feint hearted of any age!).
