Mariposa has been in the same family for thirty years, who chose the best spot in the whole valley to build their home. When we first stood gazing out from the terrace, the view took our breath away and we were hooked!

There are four double bedrooms( one is huge with its own terrace), one with ensuite and one with shower, there is also a separate bathroom. The first floor has a L-shaped lounge leading onto a large terrace, kitchen,utility room and toilet. Most rooms face the stunning view. Satellite TV and DVD are also available.

Named Costa Brava (the wild coast) by the Catalan poet Ferran Agullo at the beginning of the 20th century, this coast stretches from the town of Blanes, 50 kms north of Barcelona, right up to the French border near Cadaques. The Costa Brava is one of the most sought after areas of Catalonia due to its magnificent and diverse coastline, its good climate and its unique locationbetween the Pyrenees, the Mediterranean sea, the south of France and, of course, Barcelona - undoubtedly one of Europe's most exciting cities. Cataonia' climate, its people, its shopping and services, and its incomparable quality of life make it an unforgettable holiday experience.

Calonge / Rio d'Oro area: The municipality of Calonge - Sant Antoni is interesting for its dual nature: Calonge,situated inland, has a notable medieval castle. Sant Antoni stands on the coast and offers excellent walks along its extensive seafront promenade and visits to a variety of different coves. There are festivals all through the summer months, plenty of good shops and restaurants and numerous places of interest such as Dali's museum in Figueres or the ancient village of Pals. For garden lovers there's the Cape Roig Botanical garden with its beautiful terraces overlooking the sea - and for golf fanatics there are 8 golf courses within 10-30 mins drive. Rio d'Oro (river of gold) has a renowned Catalan restaurant so you don't need to drive!

How to get there: Fly to Girona(also Barcelona or Perpignan) - Mariposa is approx. 35 km (44 mins) from Girona airport.
