Location: Calahonda is approx 35 Kilometres and 30 minutes drive from Malaga Airport which has many flights to and from the UK and Euorope on a daily basis. There are many local and international car-hire companies based at the airport, details of which can be supplied if required. Calahonda is 15 mins drive from both Marbella & Fuengoirola and has has fine, safe, sandy beaches of its own with many other local beaches a very short drive away along the coast. The beaches, restaurants and shops of La Cala De MijasVillage and Cabo Pina Port are both 5 minutes drive along the coast. Inland are the beautiful white Andalucian villages and towns of Mijas Pueblo, Ojen, Istan, Benhavis, Alhaurin, Coin and Monda amongst others. Gibraltar and the old Moorish cites of Ronda, Seville, Granada and Cadiz are further away but can be reached by car on the fast, new motorways. Malaga has the Picasso Museum, great shopping and many international restaurants.

Eating Out: There are 4 restaurants and a club within easy walking distance of the house Calahonda has many good bars and restaurants in the centres and dotted around the community, plus good local supermarket shopping options. There are also too many beach side & village restaurants to list just a short drive away along the coast in both directions, plus of course Malaga, Fuengirola, Marbella & Puerto Banus.

Shopping: There is a mini-market within easy walking distance of the house and there are several good supermarkets in Calahonda plus plenty of mini-markets and more general shops in El Zoco centre.. There are new shopping malls at 'La Canada' Marbella and 'Miramar' Fuengirola boasting a good selection of fashion, sports & shoe shops and large hypermarkets.

If you are staying in winter, you are about a 2-2½ hours drive from the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada
