The Costa del Sol is widely regarded as having the best all year round climate in Europe with more than 320 days sunshine a year. The local beach is 5 minutes walk away and Puerto Cabopino a secluded picturesque port and beach just five minutes drive. The new road from Malaga airport to Calahonda takes about 25-30 minutes.
Calahonda is a central Spanish town built near to the seafront.Ocean Point is located near the base so is ideal for walking to the beach and restaurants. Further larger beaches at La Cala and Cabopino are 5 minutes drive or a bus ride away. There are 2 main commercial centres with supermarkets, gift shops, banks etc. are within walking distance and a weekly street market at the nearby village of La Cala approx 6 kms away
Calahonda is central to both Marbella and Fuengirola, local golf courses, tennis clubs, and watersport facilities.
Tivoli World Amusement Park with its cable car rides is suitable for adults and children, set in beautiful landscaped gardens, with over 40 rides and numerous shows. This is approx 15 -20 minutes drive away in Benalmadena.
Extensive range of sporting facilities nearby. A summer camp at Aztec Country Club for children is nearby (5 mins drive) Riveria de Sol.There are tennis courts, snooker and pool tables in the indoor leisure club. There are good places in the sea close by for snorkelling. On local beaches you can try water-skiing, jet-biking, sailing, and wind-surfing. There's a diving school at Torreblanca,bowling greens at very nearby Miraflores, water-parks at Torremolinos and Fuengirola, and a casino at Benalmadena!

Golf Information
The Costa del Sol (or Costa del Golf as many Spanish road signs proclaim!) is known as the 'golfer's paradise', and deservedly so. As well as the weather (320 days of sunshine a year!), the many courses designed by famous professionals also entice golfers to this area. There are a number of golf courses in the area and in Calahonda there is a nine hole course. Miraflores and La Chaperell, both within 10 minutes drive, are 18 hole courses.
It's a magnificent place to play golf throughout the year.
Skiing Information
The Sierra Nevada is only about two and a half hours away by car. There are a wide variety of ski-slopes , suitable for learners and experts. The full range of equipment and clothing is available for hire , and the prices are very reasonable. The Sierra Nevada is a really nice place to visit during an out-of-season holiday . You don't always need to ski , alternatively try walking , as an option and admire the fantastic views throughout the region.

A mid week linen change can be organised , with additional laundry made available for a small charge. |
