Costa del Sol: The sunny Costa del Sol/Malaga region boasts something to suit everyone's tastes, (unless you don't like sunshine!). Famous for Puerto Banus and Marbella, home of the Spanish jet set, there are also sleepy villages such as Nerja and historic towns like Granada and Seville.Very popular with holiday makers the Costa del Sol offers beach relaxation and has a thriving nightlife. It also offers water and theme parks making it a top destination for families as well as the party set and those simply looking to get away. Benalmadena: The award winning Benalmadena marina offers a variety of water sports and houses the Sea Life Centre. For an active nightlife Benalmadena Costa has a casino, nightclubs, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Sample the local dishes or visit a 'Chiringuito' (beach bar) for fresh fish dishes served with chilled wine or a refreshing glass of sangria. Children will enjoy Tivoli World theme park from where a cable car whisks you to the top of the mountain for stunning views and the fabulous Jardin de Las Aguilas (Garden of Eagles). The town centre, Arroyo de la Miel, has a range of supermarkets, bars, clubs and restaurants. For the more adventurous there is a Plaza de Toros (bull ring). Or take a relaxing stroll around Benalmadena pueblo, a typical quaint Andulacian white washed village. Benalmadena Golf is walking distance from the apartment. There is also an international private hospital. There is a local bus service, but to fully enjoy what the region has to offer a car is recommended. However, excursions are easily arranged. How to get there: Cheap flights to Malaga are very easy to come by. Try Easyjet or Monarch. Cars can be hired from the airport or if you would like to organise this before hand try www.carjet.co.uk or www.briansrentacar.com, a local car firm. The apartment is only 15 minutes drive from the airport and a taxi will cost about 25 euros. Alternatively there is a train service from Malaga airport to Benalmadena town centre from where you can get a taxi to the apartment for around 7 euros. |
