The dome of Altea's church, is one of the symbolic images of the Costa Blanca. Where is Altea ? Located in the East of Spain ( Valencia Region ) within the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca Nearest Airport Alicante at 68 Kilometres Nearest Beach La Olla at 4 Kilometres Nearest Motorway Altea Junction 64 at 2 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Altea La Vella at 2 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Don Cayo at 1 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Altea La Vella at 2 Kilometres Altea la Vella is a small traditional village with stunning views to the sea and the Bernia mountains. It is approximately 25 miles north of Alicante and just a couple of miles from Altea. Although it is in a quiet nature setting it is close to services, the beach and all the restaurants and sights of Altea. The village has real character and a selection of fine cafes and tapas bars. One of the restaurants in the village is Ca Toni. There are also Giardinos, Valentinos, Bellinis, Ripol, Bernia, and more. So plenty of places to eat without going out of the village. There is a new and an old part to the village. The old part is on a small hill having tiny streets and a lovely church. You must look inside. In the newer part of the village there is a theatre, school, bars, cafes and shops, and a couple of bakers. It only takes 4-5 minutes drive down to the village and there is plenty of parking up behind the bank. There is a 9 hole golf course nearby at Club Don Cayo. Real club de Faula Benidorm offers two 18-hole golf courses, and is the most exciting new golf project on the Costa Blanca for almost 10 years. The Levante course is Par 72 and 6626 metres. The Poniente course is Par 62 and 3858 metres. Designed by Jack Nicklaus these two 18-hole golf courses are suitable for all levels of player. Located in a pine filled valley with views to the sea and mountains it covers more than 80 hectares and is 6,612 meters in length. Laid out on a surface area of over 80 hectares, the Levante Course is an American-style course with wide fairways and exquisitely shaped greens over 6612 meters long. It also enjoys spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the Finestrat Mountains.
