The town is situated on the northern slope of the Mijas mountain range (Sierra de Mijas), to the right of the Guadalhorce River and in the very heart of the Guadalhorce valley. It covers an area of 72km² and has a population of more than 23,000 inhabitants. At only 27km from Málaga city centre, 20km from Málaga airport and only 18km from the coast via Fuengirola, Alhaurín el Grande truly is a strategic inland central point. The name of the town itself is of Arabic origin but its meaning is frequently argued.
The most popular translation is “Jardín de Allá” (“Allah’s Garden” or “God’s Garden”) with the “Grande” part distinguishing it from the smaller town of “Alhaurín de la Torre” j

Your holiday apartment is situated in a rural countryside setting but close to the picturesque towns of Alhaurin El Grande, Cartama and Coin with all the facilities they offer restaurants, bar's and supermarket's etc. Close to excellent Golf, but other activities include walking, horse riding and fishing. If you like to shop Marbella, Fuengirola and Torremolinos are about a 20 to 40 minute drive. If you just want to relax by the pool there are comfortable wooden loungers with cushions for you to use. Large Oval table with parasol which seats 6.
